    By alerting you as soon as mail arrives, you constantly open the e-mail window keeps on your toes, right?

    Actually a new study finds that closing your inbox can boost concentration and ease stress.


    The research will be presented at the Association for Computing Machinaries Computer-Human Interaction Conference.

    With the permission of their supervisors, workers in a suburban office took e-mail vacations. 


    They did not check their mail for five days.


    As they aren't their e-mail, their neighbored coworkers use their computers, monitors recorded their heart rates and software sensors observed when they switch one browser window to another.

    Workers with access to e-mail had constant heart rates which indicate the state of high alert.
